Other Apple-proprietary services, such as Airport, Calendar, Contacts, Messages, and Netboot were also removed, with no corresponding open source options. Straight after the upgrade the screen was covered in wavy white lines. You can try switching from the Wayland session back to X by clicking the gear icon by your name in the login screen. Thank you for the comments. Started reading about the Wayland changes and supported NV chipsets as it is a strong chance that is the issue.

All fun as they say! It would appear my leaving it alone and restarting it over lunch has resolved the issue. Unfortunately I am getting the following error Core was bit, while Core2 was bit. I successfully installed the base system on my Blackbook 2,1 using the modified iso burned to CD.
Next will be my Mac Pro 1,1. Thanks to Matt for providing the info and link to the source needed. My first thought is that the Manjaro installer might be trying to install an EFI boot partition by default. It may be throwing a wrench into things. go site I installed the debian version, it seemed all fine. Either that or swapping in another empty 2. Then boot the debian installer, nuke the windows partition and create the linux partition. Maybe someone will chime in with something a little more straightforward though. Hi, Matt. Now it works. I did a full re-install of OSX. Then I used Bootcamp to create a partition for linux, intalling debian i made the ext4 partition before the swap one.
Finally i installed the grub boot loader on the same partition ext4 of the linux one. I then tried Ubuntu Both free and open source.
